I was invited by Disney /Pixar on an all expenses paid trip to Monterey California to cover the #FindingDoryEvent. I got to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium free of charge. All opinions are my own.
As you know, last month I had the opportunity to visit Monterey California for the #FindingDoryEvent. I had a fantastic time! While there, I got to check out The Monterey Bay Aquarium, which is by far, the most amazing Aquarium I have ever visited. The exhibits are breath taking, and the views outside are phenomenal.
While at the aquarium, we got some VIP treatment and some behind the scenes sneak peeks that aren’t normally offered. I felt so Spoiled! It was a truly amazing time!
We also got to find out how the teams at Disney/Pixar visited The Monterey Bay Aquarium for their research in making Finding Dory (which opens June 17th). More posts about that coming soon.
I found Dory at the Monterey Bay Aquarium! And Nemo & Marlin were there too. Just keep swimming…
We had the chance to see the Sea Otters from up above their exhibit. They are seriously so cute!
We had the chance to watch them feed. Take a look at this video I took of their feeding time.
We also got to watch the training session from above. They told us the reason the otters need to be trained is so that when it is time for a vet to do their check up, they will allow the vet to touch them and check them out. They may look cute and cuddly, but they are predators and will bite.

My favorite part was being able to meet an Octopus. Up close and personal. I LOVED every second of this! I will share all the details of my experience in an upcoming post all about Hank from Finding Dory which will go live on June 2. So be sure to come back for that!
We got to attend a VIP reception at the aquarium at night after it was closed. It was amazing! Fabulous food, incredible views. The Monterey Bay Aquarium and Disney•Pixar spoiled us for sure!
Another bonus was that just a couple days before we arrived a mama Sea Otter came in from the Ocean and gave birth to her pup at the aquarium. I got to see them cuddling on a rock, so sweet!
The Monterey Bay Aquarium recently opened a new exhibit called “Viva Baja!”. I got a sneak peek of the exhibit while I was there and it is totally cool!

I was mesmerized by the Garden eels!
They also have these really fun coloring stations where you are able to color a fish and then it comes to life in the “reef tank” (video screen). So fun!

Have you ever thought about getting a second home on the beach in a fun and exotic place? Obviously this is not a reality for some of us, but it’s always fun to dream… Could you imagine waking up to this? TALK about #lifegoals…
I am a homebody. For real. I enjoy travel, but sometimes it stresses me out- especially when kids are involved. I love the idea of having a second home somewhere that we would love to travel to over and over again. Another house that is ours, that would still be home and have the things we want and need when we travel already there so we don’t have to pack an extra suitcase for toys and swimsuits. Think about how much easier packing is when half the stuff you need is already at your destination just waiting for you? Score! And getting to explore and really get to know another city and/or country and culture would be a great opportunity for both you and your whole family. The great thing about second homes is that it is a fabulous place for you to stay when you want to go on vacation, but also a great way to make money by renting it out whenever you aren’t there. There are so many great options for rental companies, and now with Airbnb and other online places like that, renting is a breeze and can be a HUGE source of extra income. And I know that people are always looking to rent great beach front properties, so they can just walk out of their place and straight onto a beautiful beach!
If you could choose anywhere to vacation or purchase a second home, where would you go? There are so many great options.
One country that has always fascinated me is Australia. I have never been there- let’s be real, I have never really been anywhere. It’s a sad state of affairs. But I have always heard about how much fun Australia is and would just love to travel there! And a second home? That would seriously be a dream come true. Have you seen this awesome land for sale in Perth? Perth is the capital of Western Australia and is known for some great beaches. Could you imagine having a beach home there? They have both land and house packages and can build the perfect home for anybody- year round or just a vacation home. What an amazing opportunity.

SUMMER IS HERE! Are you excited? Living up north really gives you an appreciation for the warm months… and living in Minnesota gives you an appreciation for spending the summer by the lake!
Our family had the amazing opportunity to enjoy a weekend at Kavanaugh’s Sylvan Lake Resort in Brainerd Minnesota. If there was ever a place that was perfect for rest, relaxation, fun, and excitement all wrapped into one it is Kavanaugh’s!

How great is the property? This babbling brook runs throughout and seriously sounds like one of those sound machines I had in the kids’ rooms when they were babies… but it’s the real deal! LOVE!

Does your family have any big summer plans?
Summer is such an amazing opportunity to connect as a family- the days are nice and long, kids are off of school, and the weather begs you to spend time outdoors. ESPECIALLY if you’re a Minnesotan- those winter months are no joke. So our family was so excited to celebrate the beginning of summer and head up north to the Brainerd area to spend time at the amazing Kavanaugh’s Sylvan Lake Resort.
Road trip!
When you pull up and this is your view? The excitement abounds. How ADORABLE are these cabins?
The cabins totally have that Minnesotan cabin feel. I love it!
And this was the view outside our cabin… Can you say reeeeeeelax?
The East beach- Perfection for this Minnesota gal.
It was easy to settle in- I love that these cabins are spacious and so homey. The full kitchen is awesome- we brought a bunch of food, which I love because that means we aren’t spending a ton of money on eating out. Each cabin had a grill too which makes for easy meal making.
So much of our weekend was sports- our boys Harrison and Ruben are 6 and 7 and OBSESSED with sports of all kinds. Kavanaugh’s has tons of open spaces + tennis courts, a basketball court (with two adult hoops, and one kid sized one, which was perfect), and a volleyball court. They also have bike and walking trails- 4400 ft of trails within the resort!! So there are a TON of ways to stay active during your trip!

Kavanaugh’s has a TON of things to rent out and enjoy- bikes, motor boats, pontoon boats, paddleboards, kayaks, and paddle boats!
We rented a boat and had so much fun relaxing together on the water. There is something about leaving devices and the world behind to enjoy time JUST our family. #happy
So when you’ve had your fill at the lake (just kidding, thats not possible.) BUT- there is an AMAZING outdoor pool for a change of pace. There is also an indoor pool and hot tub! Nothing is missing at Kavanaugh’s….

We spent so much time just down at the beach. It was right outside our doorstep. That is truly fabulous. I loved that the TV, phone, and devices were long forgotten for that precious few days. We were there together, with nature.
We can not thank Kavanaugh’s enough for this opportunity. Their resort is something dreams are made of. We had a blast as a family of four, but I can totally see how awesome the resort would be with extended family. Perfect way to get time together, without someone having to host. Without the distractions of “real” life- just a family and the lake.

Slideboard Rides
Midwest’s first state-of-the-art, interactive Slideboarding systems in its Klondike Kavern Indoor Waterpark. The Slideboards, which resemble surfboards with handles, offer a real life gaming experience within a water slide. An app of the ride is also available for smartphones and tablets so guests can learn how the ride works before they arrive and continue to have fun with the app long after they return from their vacations.
Riders use controllers, located on the Slideboard’s handles, to push colored buttons that match flashing lights they are passing under. If it is done correctly, a rider gets the maximum amount of points and the handles of their Slideboard will vibrate to alert the rider of their bullseye accuracy. A leaderboard in the waterpark lets guests see how they did and where they rank against other riders. As riders get better at Slideboarding, new and challenging levels are unlocked.
Two Room Escapes by DOA
These room escapes offer an interactive, mind-intensive experience where up to 12 people are locked in a room and have 60 minutes to strategize as a team how to decipher clues, decrypt codes, and interpret riddles to escape. They examine visual props to unlock a series of padlocks of which, the ultimate lock, will hold the “key” to the participants’ freedom.
The two Room Escapes by D.O.A., The Hotel and The Basement, are based upon a series of real-life incidents that occurred during the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. The Hotel, which opened in December, features a recreation of its lobby and is layered with puzzles and clues to help visitors find their way out before time is up. The Basement will feature a darker theme that inspires urgency and introduces confusion as participants navigate the clues while spontaneous audio and visual objects invade their senses.
“Escape Rooms are hugely popular right now all over the United States and have been featured on the Today Show, Big Bang Theory and even the Bachelorette,” said Chris Ebben, Wilderness Resort attractions director. “They offer a fun, challenging environment that encourages you to work closely with your whole team, learning and using each other’s strengths. We are really excited to introduce this fun concept to Wisconsin Dells.”

These boys are so obsessed with sports of all kinds right now, they loved all the basketball, volleyball, etc.
While there are TONS of awesome, super thrilling slides (which we LOVED) there are also lots of great kiddie slides that keep kids entertained for hours, and that you don’t have to go down. I think our 6 year old Ruben went down this slide, I kid you not, about 100 times.
And while they’re sliding safely, you can do a little of this…. #perfection
I think this was just their permanent expression the whole time- so much joy and excitement!
This is the The Thirsty Buffalo Saloon- how cute is this? And the food was amazing- and right next to the water park! #winning
So many of the pools had these amazing lounge areas within the pool- and behind the boys is a hot tub in the middle of the pool!
Everything is walkable, and I loved that we even got in some nature time! This is a bridge to get to one of the outdoor water parks, and they do their zip-lining here.
We LOVED the Wild WaterDome! It seriously felt like you’re at the beach, except indoors! There were some great slides here, and of course the awesome wave pool which is so fun!
We finished our trip with tons of indoor fun as well- 3D mini-golfing, Go-Karts, Lazer Tag, and the arcade (well, one of them- there are multiple.)
There is seriously so much to do at Wilderness there is no way I could tell you about it all. You just HAVE to go and experience it with your family! There is a great balance of activity and down-time, and the opportunity for adventure for your days are endless. From the bottom of my heart, our family bonded and grew over the weekend. We are seriously already planning a trip back next year!

I can’t tell you how excited I am! I grew up watching the Ghostbusters and have even introduced it to my girls-who love it by the way. I know all the words to the song and was so excited to see that the new team of Ghostbusters are all females and they kick some ghost butt! Did I also mention that Chris Hemsworth plays their secretary?? So great!
If you haven’t seen the trailer it is going to be the must see movie of the summer. These ladies: Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are sure to make you scream with laughter!

I was invited on an all expenses paid trip to LA by Sony to cover the #Ghostbusters movie, all opinions are my own.
I was so excited to go on this trip that Sony provided for the Ghostbusters movie! I was really excited to tour the Sony Lot and Ghost Corps. If your not familiar with it Ghost Corps is the Corporation founded by Ivan Reitman with whom all the magic of Ghostbusters started! I couldn’t contain my excitement when we pulled up to the lot! The first thing I noticed was the huge rainbow!
That huge rainbow is a landmark and can be seen from all over LA! The rainbow was put up as art and commissioned for Culver City to bring a bit of light to anyone who sees it from far and wide. It also references the Wizard of Oz which was filmed at what used to be the MGM lot now the Sony Lot! I thought it was so cool and brightened my day right off the bat! I also noticed that all of the bloggers I traveled with were just in awe of that beautiful rainbow, what a great piece of art!
Our tour started off right at Ghost corps and while we were waiting they were actually filming Masters of Sex right there! I don’t watch that show but I have heard it’s great and thought it was so cool to see them filming right there! The first thing I noticed when we got to Ghost corps was that the old Ecto 1 that they used in the first 2 movies was right out in front of Ghost Corps! I almost felt like I was walking on sacred ground because I absolutely loved the original Ghostbusters. It came out in 1984 and was really a new type of film for that generation. It had things that people had never seen before. I absolutely loved those movies and my girls actually both really like them too! In fact we own them both and watch them all the time!
So to be able to have my picture taken with the original Ecto 1 was just amazing. If only they had had the original jumpsuits to try on I might have taken off to find some ghosts to bust!
When we walked in Ivan Reitman the producer of both the original Ghostbusters and the new Ghostbusters was standing right there to meet us! He was seriously one of the nicest, most friendliest person I have ever met. I loved the passion that he had when he talked about not only the old Ghostbusters movies but the new one too! He wanted us to take a moment to look around and the first thing I noticed were all of the Ghostbuster toys from the old movies and new movies that I know my girls are going to love. Heck I want some of those toys myself! It brought back so many memories of my childhood that I literally almost teared up. I couldn’t believe I was there at Ghost Corps listening to Ivan Reitman!
There were so many cool toys to choose from like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Ecto 1 and of course the Ghostbusters themselves!
Ivan Reitman the incredible producer started talking about the old days and how he couldn’t believe how many people had brought their children to the old Ghostbusters movie. A lot of the kids that had come to see the movie stated that because the Ghostbusters were able to contain a lot of the ghosts in a container that it made them seem less scary and that they could go out and do anything too! Ivan really wanted to know our thoughts on what ages we thought were appropriate for the movie ( I will let you know more on that on Friday!) He wanted to let everyone know he didn’t want parents to bring anyone inappropriately shy or young to a film like this.
Ivan Reitman set up Ghost Corps last year to expand the franchise of Ghostbusters. Ghost Corps is under Sony and now they are able to creatively expand the Ghostbusters Franchise! I loved that he let us kinda go loose and explore each room. We were able to go into the conference room and see some of the posters from the movies and there were stickers from Ghostbuster groups all around the world! Ivan Reitman said they had close to 200 groups! I thought that was incredible and so so cool!
We ended with seeing some yummy Slimer Key Lime Twinkies and tons of cool props from the movies.
After our tour of Ghost Corps we headed onto the tour of the Sony Lot. One of our first stops was the Folley sound stage. The sound stage we went on was the Barbara Streisand Scoring Stage! Our tour guide was amazing and had some really great stories. We walked into the sound stage and were able to see where Barbara Streisand had performed, Judy Garland sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow , Whitney Houston and more! I could’t believe how many stars and sang right where we were standing!
One of the cool tidbits our tour guide told us was that back in the day the musicians were still allowed to smoke in that room. So they would take a break play their instrument, then put the cigarette right out on their stand then either keep playing or keep smoking! It was so cool to hear about her fun stories from back in the day. Most of the bloggers noticed all the hawaiin tshirts hanging up in the sound stage and were really curious. Our tour guide told us that John Lasseter has done so many films in that sound stage he has left a hawaiin shirt for each film that was scored there!
It was incredible to also see the sound board and to realize how many moving parts go into making just the music for the movie! One of the bloggers/actresses in our group (Carla Renata) was able to do a bit of Whitney Houston in the Sound stage, because it has some of the best acoustics in the world, and it was incredible!
As we were taking the tourit was really fun to hear all of the different stories that our Tour guide had! She had been a tour guide for close to 16 years and had seen so many different things. I was really excited when we came to the Happy Madison Production company. I was really hoping to see Adam Sandler drinking coffee or just hanging out (no such luck!) BUT on our way there I did spot the parking space for Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad AND I was able to take a picture of myself with Paul Feig (director of the new Ghostbusters) car! Where Happy Madison production is now used to be where Sean Connery would spend his time. Our tour guide let us know that he was a very nice guy and she would see him hanging out there from time to to time! It was so cool to see all of the different celebrities car spaces and of course to spend some time outside trying to spot the stars!
We were also able to see onto the live set of the Goldbergs which is going into it’s 4th season. We weren’t able to take any pictures, but the Goldbergs takes place in the 80’s and it’s on my must watch list now! I grew up in the 80’s and walking around the Goldbergs set was seriously a blast from the past. In one of the boys rooms I saw garbage pail kids, Ghostbusters items and puffy stickers. There were floral drapes and wall paper in almost every room and I think I spotted my parent’s dining room table! Next we were able to tour the set of the show Ray Donovan, I haven’t seen that show but part of the set is where the wicked witch from Wizard of Oz burned up! You can actually see the scorch marks from where the pit was that she was supposed to fall into.
One of the cool stories that our Tour guide told us is that Margaret Hamilton who played the Wicked Witch caught on fire during the part where she is melting. She had to call a friend to come get her and take her to the hospital because she wasn’t under contract! She came back to set and refused to get on the broom that was going to be flying into the air. So they had a stand in replace her for that scene and that person caught on fire and broke some bones doing that scene! Well then Billie Burke who was under contract sprained her ankle and the press and everything made a huge deal because she was under contract at the time! It was so cool to hear these stories about this lot that has really been around for so long!
We also were able to tour where Wheel of Fortune is filmed! I actually got to see the real wheel and letter board. I grew up watching Wheel of Fortune and have loved that show! The Sony lot also tapes tons of other shows like Jeopardy, Dr. Ken, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad and more!
It was so much fun being able to chat about TV Shows, Actors, Movies and more!

Ghostbusters opens in theaters everywhere this Friday!
I was invited on an all expenses paid trip to LA by Sony to cover the #Ghostbusters movie, all opinions are my own.
As you all know I was flown out to LA by Sony to cover the #Ghostbusters movie. I must say the trip was fantastic! One of the best highlights of the trip was when the bloggers were able to interview the 3 leading ladies (Kristen Wiig was out sick) Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. We also were able to talk with Paul Feig the Director and writer, Ivan Reitman the producer and Kate Dippold a writer.

What fascinated me most about this fun interview (it being my first press junket) was the friendship that all of the cast and those attending had with one another. I could tell just by the jokes being passed that they really had a fun time making the movie. In fact one thing that Melissa McCarthy said was “If this is a day at the office, then my gosh this is a pretty good deal, it just seemed nutty from the screen test on” Kate McKinnon went on to say (about making the movie) that “this was like a carnival ride or fun house or hoe down or any other fun thing, the funnest thing you could imagine or something like that”

It was so funny because Leslie Jones went to chime in and it just kept getting funnier and funnier, she said it was like “summer camp, there were crafts…” then everyone decided to chime in with their favorite things from camp Melissa McCarthy said it was like trying new foods, activities, camp counselors (as they point to Paul Feig), trust exercises etc. it was seriously so funny!
Ivan Reitman was asked since he worked on the first 2 films “Why is now the right time for a new Ghostbusters?” He answered saying that particularly as it’s told by these 4 extraordinary women, there was this (meaning banter) on set we finally talked each other into it after 20 years.

Leslie and Kate were asked since these others (meaning Paul Feig, Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig) had worked together before, was there some type of hazing beforehand?….Leslie Jones replied “Now look at me do you think anybody would try and haze me??” The room seriously burst out in tearful laughter because Leslie Jones is 6 feet tall! I loved Melissa’s response afterwards saying she thought about putting extra weight in Leslie’s proton pack a little at a time each day because she would complain about how heavy they were. But then she decided against it because she didn’t want Leslie to realize that it was her and come after her!

Kate Dippold was asked if she was intimidated writing for these 4 talented women and her response was basically that they make everything funny and really made the script their own. They all chimed in and they were able to really take hold of their characters and they were able to run away with some of the scenes! We learned that Kate McKinnon is actually a secret scientist and she bought a soldering kit and made an alarm system! She was seriously so funny. She really got into her character! After the mediator asked some questions the floor was actually open to the bloggers and it was really fun to see how much the bloggers loved the movie!

One of the bloggers asked if any of the scenes were pure improve and there were a few that were improved with Chris Hemsworth, and Paul Feig said “YOU have to stay till the end credits there are so many funny happenings during and after the credits!”
The next question was probably one of my favorites, being a mom of all girls. I was itching to ask this and I am so glad that someone else did. The question was mainly directed toward Melissa McCarthy since she has 2 girls and it was said “Since your a mom of 2 girls and your leading these 3 powerful, smart women, as part of the new Ghostbusters what does it mean to be a part of that especially with your own daughters…for you and the other women to be role models for these girls?”

Melissa McCarthy’s answer almost had me tearing up because I want my girls to grow up knowing that they can be anything they want to be. Her answer was “It means the world to me where I think they can see themselves and they don’t even have the realization of why couldn’t or wouldn’t it be me? Why couldn’t I be the hero? I think it does incredibly important things for not only little girls but little boys who can see these women as heroes, it’s a testament to how Paul sees the world, he doesn’t see it as a girls movie or that it’s for women…he and Katie wrote these 4 incredible characters and them being women has no consequence to the movie and that’s the biggest statement we can make.”
Leslie Jones also stated “When I was growing up watching Woopie Goldberg on TV I couldn’t believe that there was someone on TV who looked like me, I can now do this, for some little black girl to look at me doing this…well Ya, I am pretty much very proud of that!”

It turned to a funnier note when the question was asked (it’s a great one!) “If you could come back as any ghost what would it be and who would you haunt?” Leslie Jones’s answer was seriously classic…”I would come back as Hummus, cuz they love hummus, as soon as they went to dip their carrot I would be like Ahhhhhh!!!!” Melissa McCarthy said “I would come back as some sort of Tabby Cat and go live with Kate and I would know the kind of pampering I have never experienced.” Leslie Jones chimes in “You should see the type of inappropriate pictures she sends me with her cats!”
I loved that one of the bloggers asked Leslie about how hard it was being curvy and finding clothing that fits. Leslie said she has been 6 foot since she was 11 or 12 and being curvy, tall whatever shape you have to speak up and say something. You are the one spending the money to get clothing, if you don’t speak up they will never know! Melissa stated that most stores don’t offer that clothing, Melissa started a clothing line because she couldn’t shop or find clothes that fit, it’s not the exception, you must say NO we come in every shape, size, color.

Ivan Reitman was asked “I know I was joking around with Kate earlier about when there will be a sequel, so Ivan when will there be???” Ivan’s response…SOON! It took 20 years for this one so….
Then they took Facebook Fan questions! I loved that this was streaming live and one of the questions was a great one! “Who was your female role model?” Kate’s answer was ladies who have not been scared to be who they are and aren’t afraid to go against the norm. Leslie said all the female comedians like Lucille ball and Carol Burnett who would go for the Joke, she also mentioned Melissa McCarthy.
Melissa said that her Mom was her biggest Hero. She told Melissa if she worked hard enough she could do it! “Those who ignore the should’s and shouldn’ts, everytime I took those sparks in, all those sparks were taken in and I said Why not me and that’s the key to all the great women.”
The next question was describe this movie in one word:

“Did you all change your phone numbers and emails and why don’t I have them?” From Chris Hemsworth! ( He was following the Live feed on Facebook!)
“How much extra feed will be on the DVD?” Tons and Tons! It started as a 4 hour movie and Paul Feig worked hard to get it shortened. The women are just amazing in this movie, and so many bloopers!
“What is the slime made of and how do you get it off?” It goes on and doesn’t want to come off, you can not use water! It just keeps growing like an entity on you.
The next Blogger question was “What would you say to those who were worried about the lead roles being women?”
All of the ladies basically said “GO SEE THE MOVIE!! Once you have seen it you will love us and the movie!”
“What is your most memorable moment of being a part of this beloved franchise?”
Kate McKinnon shared that on the last day they all basically cried and didn’t know that she could develop that kind of friendship with these people as an adult, they were all so sad to leave each other. Leslie said: “I’m not gonna cry, I’m gonna see you next week and then she is crying with snot face….”
Then came my question…Now I must say, I was beyond nervous to ask this, I was in front of these incredible women and men…I asked ” Now I have a serious question for you all…Do you believe in Ghosts in real life?”
Every person on the panel said that they did! Kate McKinnon went on to share a funny story from the time she was 8 and in a club called the Ghost hunters club (it was her and 1 other person)…there was an empty pipe sticking out of her elementary school, they put a stick in the pipe, and it moved! “What moved it? I didn’t see anything move it? Well after that the club disbanded because we got spooked and we went on to form the Honeysuckle eaters Club, and later disbanded because there were pesticides on the Honeysuckle….”
“Do you remember seeing the original movie?” YES! Paul Feig was a film major and he remembers seeing it and walking away thinking “if I could only make a movie like that! And now I made that exact movie…”
Melissa- “I saw it multiple times in the theater, it was a treat for our family and I saved my money so I could go back “there are heroes, their weird, they save the day…what???” it just made everything possible and cool.”
Kate Mckinnon said she remembers how amazing and awesome it was…all from her mother’s womb…born in 1984 people.
Leslie said she just remembers how pretty Sigourney Weavers hair was and if her hair looked like that then the boy would love her….
Ivan Reitman said he remembers the premier and after seeing the peoples faces and how it just felt good….
I loved how powerful these women were, their statements were funny at times but also really profound, I came away with a better feeling of being a Mom, Wife, and Woman in every capacity.

I received the Sweet Sleep Musical Swing to review and wanted to share what I think of it. It comes un-assembled, but I found it quite easy to put together all on my own. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and surprisingly there aren’t that many steps.
I really like the size of this swing. It isn’t enormous, like some swings can be, so it doesn’t take up a lot of space. I also like that the legs fold together (with the press of 2 buttons) making it easy to move from room to room, easier to store, and even to take with you when you travel.
I like the speed settings on the swing, and I feel like even the highest one isn’t too fast, which is good. It has 5 speeds total. There is even a timer so you can set the swing to turn off after 15 min., 30 min., or 60 min. It also has 3 buttons for sounds. The heart plays womb sounds, the leaf plays nature sounds, and the musical note plays music. The music is definitely the best setting and comes through with the best quality. The nature sounds are okay, but I don’t think the womb sounds are all that great, I can’t really even tell it is on or it just sounds like static to me. But the music is sweet and I think that compensates for that. You can also control the volume as well. This swing requires 4 D batteries which are not included.
This swing chair can be set to 3 different angles. Sitting up, laying down, and in between. Great for accommodating your growing baby.
The cute little bar that hangs over the swing has a monkey and a lion. I like that you can set it to whatever angle you want, closer to baby, or further away. Or you can remove it all together. It just snaps on and off very easily.
I am so excited to use this swing for my new baby once he or she arrives this winter!

Taking baby out and about doesn’t have to be hard, in fact it can be fun and very pleasant. I have put together 6 tips for keeping baby (and mommy) happy while on the go!
1. Always double check the diaper bag- It is literally the WORST when you are out and about and realize you don’t have a diaper. Or wipes, or any of the other baby essentials. Having to run to the store and buy diapers when your little one is in a stinky diaper and needs a change, SUCKS. So make sure you always double check that you have the essentials. Diapers being the #1 priority (and of course, formula and a bottle if baby is on formula).
2. Bring entertainment for baby- Having things to entertain baby can really help to keep them happy and occupied while you are out trying to get things done. Keep some toys separate that are just for this so baby will be extra interested in them since he/she doesn’t see them as often as the toys at home. Tiny Love has Baby Toys that are sure to be a hit with your little one.
3. Snacks are a must- If your baby is old enough to eat solid food be sure to bring some healthy snacks along with you. They can help keep a baby happy and occupied in a moment when they otherwise might be inconsolable. This rule never stops applying btw, my kids are 8 and 4 and having snacks with me is still always a good idea and can be a lifesaver for their moods.
4.Keep a stroller or baby carrier in the car at all times- You never know when you might need to use the stroller or a baby carrier. Having a convenient way to carry or push baby will be a lifesaver (especially for your arms) should you change your plans and do more walking than you anticipated.
5. Plan around nap time- Planning your errands or travels around baby’s nap time can be so helpful. This is especially true if you have a baby who doesn’t sleep outside of his/her crib (like my kids). This way they will be rested and happy and you will be able to get more done without having to rush to get home for nap time.
6.Be flexible- Babies are unpredictable and some days your errands might just have to wait. So be open to ending your outing early if baby’s mood just isn’t working out.

I have been so blessed, and this was actually my 3rd time being able to attend a Red Carpet Disney Premiere (my 1st being Cinderella, 2nd being The Good Dinosaur) and let me tell you, it never stops being magical!
It started with the premiere party which was actually before the red carpet and movie premiere.
It was at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel which is a gorgeous Hotel, and it was all decked out for Pete’s Dragon!
While at the party I got to ride on Elliot!
And star in my own upcoming movie “Heidi’s Dragon” which I think will be a huge hit
The food was delicious, my favorites were the desserts. They had miniature apple pies and Marshmallow Pops with green frosting.
But the dessert that stole the show were the Dragon’s Breath. Which were rice crispy treats in dry ice and when you placed it in your mouth you could actually breath “smoke”. So cool and lots of fun for everyone at the party!
After the party it was just a short walk down the green carpet (yep, this time the carpet was green, which is so fitting).
I always have to get a selfie on the red carpet as well, it’s my tradition.
At the end of the red carpet we got to ride on Pete’s Dragon, Elliot. I posed on Elliot with my new blogging friend Gwen from FindingSanityInOurCrazyLife.com

Of course, the stars of the movie were at the premiere as well.

After all that fun and excitement, I then got to screen the movie at the El Capitan Theatre and I loved it, and I can’t wait to share all of my thoughts about it!

Another little bonus was that the next day we got a special tour of the El Capitan Theatre, and we were welcomed in an incredible way! Isn’t that so cool!
It was so cool getting to learn more about the history of the El Capitan Theatre as well as getting to see back stage and get up close and personal with Ethel, the famous organ that is played before each movie premiere. We got a group shot with Ethel.
Another fun thing was an awesome Swag Bag that Disney gave me! I absolutely love the books especially the “Elliot Gets Lost” book which has a significance after you see the film.
My experience was an incredible one and definitely one that I will never forget! Thanks Disney!

PETE’S DRAGON OPENS IN THEATERS THIS FRIDAY, AUGUST 12TH!

Are you in Arizona and looking for something fun to do with the family? The SEA LIFE Aquarium Arizona is an excellent choice. My kids had an absolute blast visiting the aquarium this last weekend. It is located in the Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe (next door to the LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona).
There is so much to see and do at this aquarium and a lot of really fun exhibits.
“Sea Life Arizona is a 26,000 square foot interactive aquarium located at Arizona Mills in Tempe, Arizona. The aquarium contains thousands of aquatic creatures, plus interactive touch pools and a 360° ocean tunnel.”
My kids loved seeing and learning about all of the fish and sea life, and there is even a touch pool for the kids to enjoy.
The aquarium on the floor was a big hit, sooooo cool!
My family had a great time visiting this aquarium and we will definitely be going back again soon!

Heck I want some of those toys myself! It brought back so many memories of my childhood that I literally almost teared up. I couldn’t believe I was there at Ghost Corps listening to Ivan Reitman!
Most of the bloggers noticed all the hawaiin tshirts hanging up in the sound stage and were really curious. Our tour guide told us that John Lasseter has done so many films in that sound stage he has left a hawaiin shirt for each film that was scored there!
Where Happy Madison production is now used to be where Sean Connery would spend his time. Our tour guide let us know that he was a very nice guy and she would see him hanging out there from time to to time! It was so cool to see all of the different celebrities car spaces and of course to spend some time outside trying to spot the stars!
